Bengaluru, 26th June 2019: Chancery Pavilion delighted its patrons with an irresistible menu change at Alchemy; introducing refreshing flavors and tantalizing dishes that reflect global culinary trends with an Indian twist. Inspired by the fresh and local produce from various regions in India, globally acclaimed Chef Hari Nayak featured handpicked local ingredients in all its grandeur for the new menu. Showcasing over 20 unique dishes, chef Hari presented a unique mix of classic regional delicacies with acontemporary twist.
From lamb cafreal with chutney roti to chettiar chicken, nuts over coconut to textures of coffee, the new menu is bursting with plenty of choices for the gourmand. Those with a sweet tooth have a variety of dishes to choose from, including Mysore pak cheesecake. Alchemy’s most sought after dishes; chicken sukka bulgogi, konkan fish fillet, and gondhoraj lemon mousse can still be relished in the new menu. The new dishes are prepared by experienced chefs using modern and traditional techniques like flash freezing and slow cooking to enhance the flavors of the food. Last week it has launched its new menu which is so unique and droolworthy. It was a happy bunch of few influencers, food writers, bloggers and enterpreneurs for this delightful lunch that went on for hours, and how we all loved eating the delicacies over discussions on the dominant flavours and other good stuff ( a good bunch makes for a good lunch and good times always). The farzi café new menu is artistic and so original. I am totally ‘farzified’ by the regional recipe of south marrying north in recipes like charcoal appams with paneer bhurji with a imparting it such a unique flavor, the charcoal giving a modern look and feel to the otherwise an Indian recipe at heart.
And then another chartbuster was the khichdi risotto that took my heart away. I realized how my love for risotto and khichdi could be satiated at the same time. I must take this recipe from Mr. Suresh Hinduja soon.
The Italian balls made with daal and chawal were another show stealer.

Friends Forever
A striking design for a waistbelt inspired by the movie ‘Sholay’. A story centred around the indispensable bond of friendship, the rotatable coin in the centre featuring heads on both sides is iconic and symbolic of the sacrifices in friendship. The horses and boulders on the sides represent the action and environment in which the main part of the story unfolds, and the character Gabbar Singh’s belt is the base around which the jewellery piece is structured.
Crafted in 22kt yellow gold with antique polish and highlights of white rhodium. Contrast of shiny and textured finishes, with smoky quartz gemstones in bezel setting forming the smouldering rocks. Gold mesh chain with belt buckle and adjustability. The total length is 34 inches and net gold weight is 433.14 grams.
This piece was selected as a finalist for the Artisan Awards: Celebrating 100 years of Indian Cinema, one of the most prestigious awards for Jewellery Design in India.
My perception of it is inspired by the Greek and Vedic mythology wherein the Sun Is in the centre and its chariot is driven by the 7 horses, the horses signifying movement, strength, power, celestial wisdom.
Sun in the centre around which the earth revolves, and Sun, being the most powerful source of energy in universe is the Supreme God and hence my interpretation of the coin that is revolving in this jewellery as earth.
Sun- the symbol of power, light,brilliance, energy, is truly a symbol of the glamour of self importance and that which is praiseworthy, the beauty of a woman. This amazingly inspiring piece of jewellery which gives a look of Greek history and mythology, one that is typically in royal fashion is a possession that defines victory and freedom. It is rightly meant for a woman who loves extravagance and extraordinary.

This summers have been very juicy and deliciously invigorating our senses with the various new menu launches and festivals going on in the city of Bengaluru. Recently I was invited by team Taj Vivanta to be a traveler in their culinary journey of the Dimsums. And this turned out to be an experience, not only did I go but we chose to have a dimsum delight inside the kitchen too and be a part of rolling out the dough to making the fillings and stuffing these yummilicious dimsums before they were finally served on our table.
Chef Selvaraju took us through this journey and we got to learn some trade secrets n recipes which we might let out once he gives us a green signal, till then i will try few of them in my kitchen.
When it’s the Memories of China, Taj Vivanta then the food is brilliant and the Times Food Award and the Vir Sanghavi Food Awards for the best Chinese food stand testament to it. And we had this amazing table in the very Chinese ambience of this lovely restaurant, the interiors of which have been done in a way they spell Moody n mysterious Chinese folktales I read in my childhood. Although I loved the fusion of indian god done in oriental fashion in the restaurant.
We began our food tasting or culinary journey with some hot piping soups, I had the spicy lemon coriander soup for summers are intense this year in bangalore. Then we were served the light on palette steamed chicken dimsum, and steamed chicken and prawn suimai, and the interesting part was that these we had cooked ourselves so what better than knowing exactly the ingredients of what you eat. Also to let the vegetarians know when we were touring the spic n span clean kitchen of Taj we realized that vegetarian section of chopping, cooking and even the chop boards n utensils are separate.
In the vegetarian section we gotto taste the exotic Shangai springonion cake and coriander and spring onionsChungFang. The vegetable spring rolls and pan fried chicken gouti and crispy prawns roll CHUNG FUNG made it totally a delightful sensorial experience. We were finally again served some lovely jasmine rice and chicken recipes to go with the food along with noodles although we were so full and they are not in this menu but chef made sure that bloggers have an amazing experience. It could not have been a better soothing and satiating summer culinary soiree and the lazy afternoon coupled with laughter and fun, unsuccessful trials of making the dimsum with the kids giggling made it an afternoon to cherish. The dimsumfood festival is going on till the end of this month and it might get extended so have a day out with your preferred company and till then EAT, DRINK AND BE MERRY FOR TOMORROW WE MAY DIET.

Style Jam was a series of fashion events initiated by Phoenix Marketcity in November 2016 to address the topic of changing fashion preferences in Retail and Design Marketplace which were discussed in the first-of-its kind forum Fashion Conclave. The entire panel discussion was moderated by Prasad Bidappa. This was just a stepping stone. The event took a leap by organizing a Zumba Fitness Workshop by Sucheta Pal, Cooking Workshop by Celebrity Chef Shazia Khan, Style Jam – Makeup and Hair styling with award-winning celebrity makeup artist and hair stylist, Marvie Ann Beck and Styling Workshop by Ami Patel in the following months.

Style Jam grand finale was organized to mark the ending of this glamorous and entertaining fashion events by crowning ‘The Phoenix of the Year’ – the next big face of the fashion fraternity in Bangalore by Indian film actress Isha Talwar. The fashion show was judged by Ms. Anuja Pandey, Founder- Loftyspectrums.com and Fashion & Lifestyle Blogger, Mr. Gajendra Singh Rathore, Centre Director, Phoenix Marketcity Bangalore and Ms. Ritu Mehta, GM Marketing, Phoenix Marketcity Bangalore. All this with a heady mix of fashion show and captivating performances by Bollywood’s famed playback singers, the Kakkar sisters; Prakriti and Sukruti. This was a high-end fashion event for an exclusive audience. The evening was filled with glitterati and several exciting fashion sequences.
When it is about unbridled luxury and vision, it is synonymous with Abu Dhabi. As I head out in a taxi driven by a Pakistani chauffeur, I fled past thehigh rise glass and steel symbols of power. Then there was the glistening bevy of white yachts that were anchored on the emerald hued marina as if it were a ramp and the white beauties were making a statement.
Next, we headed to the Ferrari Worldas it holds a great spectacle with its various shows and rides.
A must visit is the Emirates Palace Hotel, the second most expensive hotel in the world! And here, it’s all about the gold! In fact, we went there for an evening coffee and guess what? The coffee was served hot and dusted with gold flakes!
The evening was reserved for the most dramatic and cultural extravaganza, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. The Mosque is the torch of cultural richness, beautifully created with minarets and tranquil Qubba; along with lavishly beautiful chandeliers. It is a beautiful work of grandeur and eye catching craftsmanship.
The floor adorned with marbles from all over the world and chandeliers from the Munich, Germany made the entire place look gorgeous and beautiful. The chandelier was made with crystals and the biggest of them is the second largest in any Mosque in the world and third largest in the world. This piece of art also has a staircase inside the chandelier which is used when it’s cleaned up.
The design of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque was been inspired by Persian, Mughal and Moorish mosque architecture, in particular the Badshahi Mosque in Lahore, Pakistan and the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco. These few were big & direct influences. In fact, the artisans from all over the world and materials contributed united the architectural world. It has one of the largest and lavish Iranian carpet.
Getting to the party scene – we realised that it’s not just the West or other party destinations that make the wave. Instead the new party zones are booming here in Abu Dhabi & one such place is MAD in YAS Island.
The Etihad airways was the official airline partner and sponsored the biggest fashion weeks around the world, including Mumbai, Milan, New York & London. They had the most tempting amenity bag and in fact, the flight attendants were in designer outfits, this shows the big way in which Abu Dhabi is launching itself as the biggest tourist destination.

After a much successful round of showcasing some fine new threads at the Lakme Fashion Week, it struck me that this summers is going to be one heck of a dress party.
