Let’s talk about fashion and sustainability. This time when I went for #NYFW SS’20 I felt how we all need to address the issue of fashion and sustainability. Although mostly designers address it while production but as fashion consumers we must definitely recycle and resue our clothes.

And this surely implies styling our fashion in a way that it facilitates the usage of the same outfit more than once. Somehow this is exactly where we lead to in this blog.

We all face same problems when we have to get ready and step out, what do I wear that I haven’t worn before. “Why do I never have enough clothes in my wardrobe”, this crosses my mind too specially when it is the Diwali season and we practically have to go out everyday and we are expected to look different each time.

Look 1 Street Style

This look commanded all the attention as I rocked the streets of #manhattan. The pants and corset top and the cape donned over it gave a pretty Hollywood street look to the entire persona and yes, I got umpteen dozens of compliments too in the #newyorkcity.

Look 2 Glam Goddess

The glam diva feminine side of your personality gets enhanced with this bodycon dress with a frill at the end. I chose to wear it for the limousine after party at the #nyfw2019. The feminism coupled with grace and charm did the trick and nobody realised that I was wearing the same cape in the morning for the show.

Look 3 Date Look

Are you girls boggled about the perfect date night look. The shorts and white crochet top topped with this jacket makes you ready for a dinner prepared by a Michelin star chef at the classiest evening with your Mr.Darcy. So, go girl flaunt and charm the world with your smile.

So toss and turn and look different by styling your outfits variously while rocking the streets and the party equally brilliantly. All you have to do is team it up differently, wear hair and makeup casually or otherwise depending on the occasion you are getting ready for.

Newyork fashion week SS’20

Hi everyone, the NYFW2019 is over and so is the fashion month. The fashionable season of fall winter is here for you to dig out all your bright neons and make a noise.

Mostly all fashion weeks showcased neons as the hottest color of the season and green certainly ruled the ramp.

What did I do while I was at Newyork city.

So I had been in Newyork city for almost 3 days now and I was keeping busy with my shoots for various other fashion brands who were on board with Loftyspectrums travel soiree.

Rest of my time was spent with friends over coffee and some great American food as we explored lots of places particularly for various cuisines.

The evenings, but, of course, were spent dressing up and rushing for the shows. My eyes were almost glued to the runway as the beautiful models of all size and shapes walked the ramp.
The after parties went on and kept us awake till late in the nights. I hardly slept there but I woke up fresh and all energetic, thanks to the beauty serums and masks that I had picked up from various brands.
What was my look for the show “Indonesian Diversity”.

I wore this lime green neon jumpsuit with wide legs that gave the feel and look of a gown. Totally loved the silky fabric and the comfort coupled with style it provided. Newyork I’m in love with you.

What was my makeup :

I did my eyes blue and green, the shadows from @Mac Disney Aladdin collection did the trick topped with some glitters to enhance the look.

NEWYORK FASHION WEEK – with ASOS #ANUJAXNYFW #NYFW

Newyork fashion week was not even on my bucket list ever. When I started my blogging journey I never imagined I would be doing all of this so soon. And yes, hurray, it happened, I got invited in the capacity of an influencer and voila, it was crazy fun.

I had the time of my life in Newyork city this time when I travelled. Last year when I was in Newyork, I went there as a tourist and this time I was there invited as a fashion influence, meeting people from fashion industry- models, designers, fashion writers and conversing with them as we exchanged thoughts n ideas, opinions and thereafter went ahead and attended the after parties.

It was an experience of a lifetime which entailed so much of learning. Newyork fashion week is ‘THE’ FASHION WEEK amongst all the weeks that follow through the month end.

In this blog I shall share my first look that I wore while I attended the #NYFW2019 show. These looks that I’m going to be wearing in my coming blogs are all specially curated and designed with lot of love n diligence from various brands, designers and fashion houses. Since I have so much to share with you all hence I’m going to make blogs on my vacation looks in Newyork that would follow these blogs soon.

So the day I arrived and i knew i had to start with the look that goes well for the work I have come for, that does perfect justice to my role that is of a fashionista, an influencer representing India, a fashion writer who knows her game right.

This very modern and fashionable pant suit with flares was in the color that’s trending this season-powder yellow.

Fashion comes and goes but quality remains forever…. this is the mantra for the Arvind brand and with the relaunch of its yesteryears most favourite pair of denims “RUFandTUF” it has proved that today’s generation can be catered by them too.

There was a melodious musical performance to add to the glamorous evening with cheese and wine.
Finally a chit chat session with the brand personnels by the pool side got me hooked to the brand.

Today you can see my wardrobe is half-filled with the RUFandTUF denims, colourful chinos with stretch cotton pants, print tees, polo neck tees, and some fitted buttoned shirts.

You are the daughter of a royal spirit, your wondrous story has already begun…your once upon a time is now…My last year’s achievement of being recognized as the #fashionicon of #bangalore by #kwaa2018 #karnataka was enhanced and escalated with the curtain raiser of KWAA, 2019.

KWAA- Karnataka Women Achievers Award organised its curtain raiser event last week and it saw the trophy designed by C.krishnaiyah Chetty being unveiled. The programmed S.I.N.G intended women from all walks of life to come together to encourage, celebrate, inspire each other.

A beautiful day saw many beautiful women as they shared their stories n ideas, walked the ramp and rocked the event.

Awards are so much more about you as a person than the social media presence. What defines who you are, your trophies, felicitations, and recognitions or the people who love you or hate you. Nothing defines us as a person, our own attitude towards people, our life and our perception and orientation defines what we become or what we are.

Achievements are always personal and today as I look back, I feel proud of all my brand associations and influence I have been able to create with my real self intact…I had the best of brands to begin with even though I had a lesser understanding of how to go about it, unlike today… I’m proud to be associated with the most inspiring women and learn and inspire them too in return.

Few days back, while I was watching Spiderman, one dialogue struck me when one kid says that it’s his last day of life and he spent all his time just trying to get likes on his Instagram… it’s hilarious how we play and go on playing and getting entangled in this fame and game of social media forgetting the real us. Let’s not be victims to this and remember what we stand for.

The town, as I arrived to attend the festival and also to see this beautiful part of the French Riviera, was buzzing with action, no reserve energy but all fluid and active…a progressive town with its inhabitants full of verve and enthusiasm as they greet everyone from all the parts of the world with equanimity and love.

A beautiful resort town by the Mediterranean with amazing climate known for its association with the rich and famous…and most importantly home to the Palais des festival and its red carpet walk of fame.

This town has upmarket boutiques & boulevards, a walk along the promenade & exploration of the streets will leave you starstruck as every woman is a fashionista here specially in this time of the year.

The town offers luxury hotels with some great food to gorge on, picturesque locales with its pristine beaches that show the true colours of water…dancing to the rhythm of life and some mindblowing parties that happen during the festivals hosted by the luxury brands that outshine brilliance as you become a spectator of this opulence and grandeur. The Cannes town at this moment is charged and overflowing with energy and flashy with celebrities in their craziest best fashion and style statements. These stars who arrive at Cannes film festival are not just stars but they are artists from world cinema who have to be fulfilling the expectations of their fans and critics alike, in cinemas as artists, and as stars leaving a trail of stardust behind, as they walk the red carpet of Cannes film festival. This surely is a lot of pressure and great emotional feeling & affair too at the same time, since every foot they put forward while climbing up the steps of red carpet is a reminder of their journey that has made them reach to these heights and that’s the look and smile that can’t escape the face of these beauties donned in their plumage as they fathom the true brilliance of each step…this is the magical Cannes red carpet that brings the best out of the best…

The amazing journey of film stars and the art of film making is showcased each day during the festivals while the movies from world cinema premiere and these stars walk and grace the red carpet adding dollops of oomph and a dash of chutzpah, an incredible mix of passionate fashion and art of cinema… a sight and a feeling that lingers on forever impressed on your heart if you become an audience to it.

Hence I say there’s so much more than just fashion in Cannes film festival, there’s philosophy and hard work (if we change our lens that are just focussing on flaws and good looks), there’s love of locals and fans alike (who don’t mind policing and being pushed around or being pushy, as a matter of fact). There’s a lot of creativity around the town in the form of people, things, food, artifacts…there’s more to Cannes than the film festival, there’s an opportunity for every fan to see there favorite stars, there’s commerce for the town, there is a learning for each student, a thought for a philosopher, a grand spectacle for a visualizer and a dreamer, a chance for directors from diverse countries to come together to collaborate and experiment in the field of movie making thereby uniting the world in one canvas; there are yacht and beach parties for the tourists and some incredibly entertaining night life and finally the beautiful people who make all of this worthwhile.

We loved the look of Eva Longoria in her gold champagne dazzling gown, Kangana Ranaut who is porcelain beauty and the only celebrity who was wearing a beautiful gold saree, Deepika padukone-the queen of Bollywood.

Cannes is an alluring and enticing beauty that has put together all its colorful feathers and is in its a full bloom of youth and cheer. Yes, it is the Game of thrones…eccentricity, blinding dazzle, dressed to kill and outshine the rest, the celebrities in their opulence making a statement of being the khalisi of the stardom. The game of thrones begins where stars are the knights in their shining glamorous armour mounted on the pride of their achievements, entering the red carpet with elan, parading while they ooze their power over fans and paparazzi as we are left enamoured and disarmed. And that’s the way aha aham ..we like it…(yes this is the song that played when Eva Longoria made her debut on the red carpet in her dazzling champagne gold gown and stole the show on day 3)

Holi is a festival that doesn’t just celebrate colors of spring but also revelry, fun frolicking and nature’s beauty. It’s like that fashionable rainbow of colors which has hues of music, gujjiyas, bhang and great food -a perky social occasion when you get a chance to splash brightness into your own outfits too.

There could be nothing better than a pool party and Holi brunch with your friends who dance on all rang barse songs apt for this festival that embraces the romance of spring at its peak.

Outfits for various moods of Holi could be many but choosing one from SS’19 collection by the ace designer Masaba Gupta for a Holi brunch is feeding the untamed wild side of you, believe me!

So a wrap around maxi dress is what I wore for the brunch. I teamed it with some very chunky jewelry by Odette that enhanced the glam look which was just in the right proportion needed for a brunch outing like that.

The wild, untamed and young fashion that it is represents the young, daring women of today. The outfit is named as the scarlet deer forest wrap dress and it’s a resort wear apt for summer lunch outings- an untamed Nirvana…that’s the spirit of any festival fashion according to my philosophy. Oh yes, I do have achieved it too 😅

The brunch went on for the whole of the day and saw much fashion. So what better way than to celebrate the festival of colours in a totally fashionable way with your colourful bevy of beauties. The rusts and red colour is a runway hit right now and it’s been reigning since last year. Bring on the prints and slap some good sunscreen or a CC cream on your face finishing it with a bronzer and goggles and some flip flops.

Finally a celebration is complete with lots of fun n laughter and some chic fashion. Happy Holi Bangalore…😍😍💓

I started this new year’s first weekend with a party and unlike most of the fashion bloggers, I chose to repeat one of my outfits with a twist in style. Why not repeat… for I love the way it makes me look!! Simple ain’t it, why do we have to succumb to the pressure of sporting new dresses, new look each time; I mean to say that I’m a fashion blogger…it doesn’t imply I’m a model. Although I pose n post my pics on social media, my primary work is to talk and write about a trend or lifestyle if it appeals to me ( I don’t believe in writing for whoever pays well, I started this blog to express my opinions and my take on things and situations that appealed aesthetically or artistically to me), my job is to create content. But we have to use our pictures too, ain’t visual medium just the most appealing way to easily convey the message or promote/advertise a product.

Life of a blogger looks so hunky dory, we are always glammed up and attending various sort of social networking events, we are there for the launches of luxury fashion and lifestyle products and we meet the best of people.. right!

Yes it is, but it could also be very demanding, you gotta look your best most of the time, you have people who follow you not in social media but also in real life and girl you have to learn the art of being polite yet keeping your distance…

and then you have your own circle of women and c’mon when do women spare other women!! Nah! So expect the expected… like one of my followers after checking my story came to the hotel where I was dining with my family and insisted on getting a picture. Don’t take me wrong, I’m not trying to say I’m a star 🌟 but all I mean to tell is that I was a plain Jane n I loved his expressions when he felt so sorry for me while I was trying to transform from my role of a mommy, who was desperately trying to make sure her kids eat well, to a Diva who looks flawless ( I know it sounds familiar, isn’t this all of us women do while they juggle roles as a mom, daughter, wife, at workplace & then to a social outings, yes we put up different faces for different places, phases, and people!! It’s the story of all superheroes… aye I love watching #marvelcomics and #DC 🙂 )

Well anyway, talking about my look, I’m so thankful to Mamta Roy to have sent me some of the most exquisite pieces of jewelry from Odette.in and she made sure she sent me all kinds of looks to celebrate my Diwali. I rang in my new year wearing this cut lace powder lavender outfit with the lovely lace and pearls necklace n earrings by #odette for #loftyspectrums #happynewyearbash exclusively.

Lace jewelry is not an everyday thing and it takes out the feminine you to the forefront.

So talking about repeating a dress but with new jewelry and style, I wore this wonderful choker with self-pride finally for this party, teaming it up with my electric blue Ritu Kumar outfit that was on the ramp this fall season, and yes, I dared to repeat it.

Loved styling my look in a contemporary way, white sneakers that speak love 💖 aloud with this beauty on my neck from Odette and an electrifying dress.

I used eye make up from HUDA and Urban Decay bronzers n pinks with a little shimmer and I dazzled the night.

That’s what a girl needs at the stroke of midnight when new year knocks our lives- love, shimmer and Cinderella Shoes 👟: The time replaces our glass heels with snug fit sneakers when the dainty princess in you don’t wanna leave the sandals anymore behind for any Prince to trace you…I love my comfort zone when I wear my choker & shoes with nobody around to choke-her (me) with any kinda demanding love or whatever else !!! Isn’t that what you call as celebrating each year with a wiser version of yourself and taking the guts of leaving behind the sissy lil girl in you who demands all the attention to herself…but enjoying yourself thoroughly!!

C’mon Lady you are your own Lover, your fairy God Mom has indeed infested a lot of Magic in you that you are capable of making so many lives Magical n star-studded 🌟🌟🌟🌟

(I would like to imagine myself leaving the trail of stardust as I walk across embracing this year) – family, friends and your instafam (read peeps who are all your family instantly on your Instagram); finally this world is a big happy family…btw a few days back it was a rage to look happy in social media but our new age Instagrammers are trying to change the rules of the game by posting their crying faces on their stories, finally we gotta be different to make news, ah why am I being mean!!! but I gotta take this year with a new me too so adding few vices along with fewer virtues too 😋.

Summer Lookbook #006 – Little Black Dress

I remember when I came to bangalore as a teenager how much I loved it. To an 18 year old from delhi this place meant a whiff of fresh romantic air, cherry blossoms, Bougainville, an IT city and most of all a city with great music and pubs.

So this week, I had a rocking time dancing my blues away with my gang of girls in one of the high end clubs in indranagar. What did you do this weekend? Let me know if you love the swanky pubs of bangalore and if yes then which ones are your favourites as I would love to try them out soon. I love my audiences and it’s really fun interacting with you so looking forward for more mails than I get.

Since you all have given a great response to the summer lookbook series so here’s another one for you, although Summers are almost getting over in bangalore. The breezy evenings and late nights of bangalore and the jam packed roads are a sight so integral to this city.

Hence today I bring you very sporty and casual look that I sported this weekend.

I’m wearing a tee shirt dress and it’s for all you rebellious women who love to experiment and not stick to safe zone when it comes to looking good. It’s a very comfy outfit and something that you could wear anytime of the day- boots at night to up the hot quotient. Since it’s slightly windy in bangalore so this look is suitable to this climate here. You can also wear it with some canvas shoes for a day wear as it reflects a very careless attitude. So fashion or no fashion your style statement has to be there.

A day in Colombo

Sri Lanka– this island is seduced all of Europe; the Portuguese, the Dutch and the English. Only a short hop across the water from India, we have a southern neighbour who make a compelling destination for so many reasons. Part of this fantastic land is it’s abundance of incredible cinnamon, which made it a key pitstop on the Spice route. It has a lot to be seen, Buddhist temples, tea estates, scenic hilly towns and its jungles where we could trek for hours and spend an afternoon worthy to be remembered forever.

My one day in Colombo

High rise building and luxury hotels in contrast to the colonial architecture typical of the old town make it a treat. This “garden city of the east” has many cool eateries, galleries and shops abound, there’s a whole lot on offering for someone who is looking to explore the cultural and evolving social landscape of this city.

Food is sunshine in abundance. There is sunshine laced on coconuts bowls of curry and spicy sambol served with steaming string hoppers. Excellent places to eat- MINISTRY OF CRAB is probably Sri Lanka’s best known restaurant which serves great sea food and sits in a old Dutch building. It’s on the spendy end of city’s eating spectrum.

Lavish resorts and hotels make it appropriate place for wedding and modelling shoots.

Beaches and water sports make for a fun time if you are with a group of friends. I had a rejuvenating time timing about the town for shopping an amazing silks and stones. Then the resort where we stayed offered some scenic places for shoot. I’m wearing @laxmikrishnalabel and @rubansaccessories. The evening sunset time made the pics come out lovely. There’s a thing for each one of us there, be it a foodie or fashionista, a jungle lover or water baby.

I went around spending some crazy time with my friends in water sports.

The sound of tuktuks and lazy afternoons make it a gorgeous lil getaway in the heart of it all.

Karnataka Women Achievers’ Awards 2018 (KWAA)

While it’s not easy to be a woman. It’s definitely never so being a woman achiever!!

Am empowered woman is powerful and beautiful beyond description. Working towards your goals with consistency and carving a niche in your area of work is what is recognised by #kwaa wherein an esteemed panel of jury decided #loftyspectrums, that’s me gals, to be worthy of the honour of being the “fashion icon” of Karnataka.
The awards were bestowed at Taj yashwantpura , it was a studded red carpet event in the presence of prominent social figures like Chenamma Deve Gowda, wife of ex PM of India, Shalini Rajneesh IAS , Principal Secy dept. Of Health. Fashion show by a celebrity designer and backed by C Krishnaiyah Chetty added glitz and glamour to this glorious evening.

While I walked the ramp to be felicitated with pride, my look to suit my title was sponsored by few brands that I totally love.

Sari @ritukumar this beautiful cream organza sari was the show stopper for #lakmefashionweek while #manushichillar had worn it in #jiogardens . I loved this colour although there was a beautiful green also in it.
Jewellery @ckc Since I have previously done collaborated posts with C Krishnaiyah Chetty and they were also sponsoring the looks of models on the ramp so my jewellery too was done by them for the gala event, check the blog posts HERE. My Friend and a popular stylist @Amitpandya chose very contemporary look for me. He chose Aquamarine stones for me. Minimal is so red carpet so we just went ahead with the ring and ear drops and bracelet in the same stone. Each aquamarine is one carat ( price on request) .
My hair and makeup was done in contemporary fashion to go with the look so we used gelled look and I left my hair open at back in a very #deepikapdukone style.

I’m more than glad to have gotten this recognition and acknowledgment on a platform like this. So be fashionable and keep loving loftyspectrums.

How to dress up for a red carpet event- IIFA Awards

Each one of us wants to look and feel glamorous for events and special occasions, but that doesn’t imply that you have to drop the same pretty penny these actors do, you could find in your bold style perfect for you today!!
Award season,specially IIFA, with its arrival has made the red carpet fashion come out in its full force. We have seen the glamorous and fashion forward looks of actors of Bollywood already.
The red carpet and green carpet looks are a li’l beyond your typical prom dress, it is about accessories that are statement pieces.

But wearing what is comfortable is important to feel confident specially if you have to walk the stage.
Recently when I was at an international beauty pageant as their Jury, I made sure I wear something that is elegant and position or duty appropriate, so I needed to look like a bit of everything-fashionable, glamorous yet graceful.
My beautiful jewellery was curtesy @rubanaccessories. I loved the chunky jewellery that I wore with black gown. My gowns were done in fish cut beautifully by the designer @laxmikrishnalabel

The orange gown with a ruffle running down was teamed with some twinkling jewellery with stones adding sparkle to my look and a statement ring. I prefer wearing a plain gown with right cuts to enhance my curves and body. Minimal is the key with some right makeup.
