C Krishniah Chetty – jewellery episode -2

So the second series of my blog on CKC Krishnaiyah Chetty line of award winning jewellery is an ode to Sun God.

C-Krishniah-Chetty-jewellery-2

Friends Forever

A striking design for a waistbelt inspired by the movie ‘Sholay’. A story centred around the indispensable bond of friendship, the rotatable coin in the centre featuring heads on both sides is iconic and symbolic of the sacrifices in friendship. The horses and boulders on the sides represent the action and environment in which the main part of the story unfolds, and the character Gabbar Singh’s belt is the base around which the jewellery piece is structured.

Crafted in 22kt yellow gold with antique polish and highlights of white rhodium. Contrast of shiny and textured finishes, with smoky quartz gemstones in bezel setting forming the smouldering rocks. Gold mesh chain with belt buckle and adjustability. The total length is 34 inches and net gold weight is 433.14 grams.

This piece was selected as a finalist for the Artisan Awards: Celebrating 100 years of Indian Cinema, one of the most prestigious awards for Jewellery Design in India.

My perception of it is inspired by the Greek and Vedic mythology wherein the Sun Is in the centre and its chariot is driven by the 7 horses, the horses signifying movement, strength, power, celestial wisdom.
Sun in the centre around which the earth revolves, and Sun, being the most powerful source of energy in universe is the Supreme God and hence my interpretation of the coin that is revolving in this jewellery as earth.
Sun- the symbol of power, light, brilliance, energy, is truly a symbol of the glamour of self importance and that which is praiseworthy, the beauty of a woman. This amazingly inspiring piece of jewellery which gives a look of Greek history and mythology, one that is typically in royal fashion is a possession that defines victory and freedom. It is rightly meant for a woman who loves extravagance and extraordinary.

Diamonds-girl’s best friend – C KRISHNIAH CHETTY

Diamonds-girl’s-best-friend4

If an egg is broken from outside the life ends
If it is broken by an inside force, then life begins
Great things happen from the inside…
So here’s to New Year wishing you all the best.

I got an opportunity to visit the grand store of C. Krishniah Chetty and sons in bangalore at Dickinson road. Here I was presented with an exquisite line of jewellery that took my breath away. It was awe inspiring as it was unique in its design and excellent in its intricate work.
To begin the start of a new year and mark the beginning of an amazing year I have chosen to express my feelings for life and the journey of it as a whole with this jaw dropping piece of jewellery which is an egg in shape and colour too.
As I climbed up the stairs of the grand showroom the interiors of which is rich in heritage and the beautiful Jewellery is displayed in such dazzling panoply, this piece of egg in white gold and diamonds could not escape my glance. Honestly it’s bewitching in its beauty.

Diamonds-girl’s-best-friend1c-krishniah-chettyA finalist for the HRD awards organized by HRD Antwerp, the theme for the competition was “A LA CARTE – A culinary diamond journey. Internationally recognized as one of the world’s most important Jewellery design competitions, it’s goal is to promote creative contemporary Jewellery design and avant-garde ideas. The lovely designer Zohara was inspired by sweet memories of her childhood when her father used to sing a famous Bollywood song before feeding her “Aao Sikhao Tumhe Ande ka Funda, Ye Nahi Pyare Koi Mamuli Banda” Whether it’s Sunday or Monday, have an egg everyday!

This exquisite piece is set in a combination of yellow and white gold with diamond accents and a stunning center composed of 5.58 cts of yellow diamonds with a solitaire to complete the piece.

The egg is an awe-inspiring universal symbol interwoven with symbolic, metaphorical and philosophical connotations through the ages.
Egg is a significant symbol of fertility and the embodiment of life. It is new life and represents totality of life in Hindu culture, with the silver part signifying the earth and the golden is sky.

I am thrilled and privileged to be doing it as first in my series of blogs for CKC.

To me an egg represents hope, growth, knowledge and hence I choose to write this blog as we approach yet another New Year. The life is meant to be lived everyday and savoured in every moment of it. Egg symbolises resurrection and let us have the courage to redefine ourselves and carve out our best with similar ardour with which the Designer has created this amazing array of jewellery.

Tanishq- Jewels of Royalty

Tanishq- Jewels of RoyaltyTanishq- Jewels of Royalty

We are a rich land of heritage, culture, history. And India and it’s royalty has been a patron of art and magnificence. While the royalty and grandeur spell jewellery, the opulence and regal grace and charisma of the royal pieces of jewels is synonymous to royal identity and status, power and flamboyance.

The Tanishq, Jewels of Royalty is an ode to this brilliance, to this patronage of royal splendour, the pride of this heritage, an ode to the royal master creation of Nature, the Woman !!

Each piece of this collection recreates you as you adorn them and I could feel I’m travelling ages and time, playing various women from the chapters of history–the history of art, cultures, glamour.

Tanishq is revitalising and breathing in oxygen into the history and beauty, the sets are an inspiration from the royal houses of Patiala and Baroda and many more.

Jewels of Royalty are befitting for every occasion, every moment, they define every mood and season of a woman, every hue and flavour of her brilliant beauty. Yes, the uniqueness of every one of us is impeccably been translated into a masterpiece of jewel that makes you feel Iike a poetry that is heard again and again and applauded, the song of beauty and romance, the Goddess who is worshipped by her Lover to times infinity… !!

Understanding this essence of modernity and revival of the grace and timeless beauty of these necklaces, I have styled my first look in a typical Hollywood Vintage way.

first-look2 first-look1

I wanted to adhere to the contemporary twist of Tanishq so this look was born- an amalgamation of sensuality and sophistication which are seen as opposing qualities when they are not.

The imperial beauty of this tassel effect diamond set with semi precious green stone taking the centre stage is what makes it befitting for any occasion. Brilliance is never just confined to few festivals but it is an ongoing affair.

The second piece is fabulously rich and passionate and speaks for itself, it spells the unsaid glamour and charisma of a royal stature and upholds the grace and majestic look all the way.

second-look1 second-look2 second-look3

This is a cascading three tiered diamonds, Polkis and green gemstones set which is inspired by the Maharaja of Patiala, Yadavindra Singh.

Reimagined by the Patialas, the diamond swirls and the swaying pearls highlight the carved green stone.

I have again worn it with an off shoulder in satin and floral skirt giving it an indo western feel. The emphasis still lies on the fact that why not incorporate this kind of jewellery free from curtailment of one kind of dressing.

The sets were many and every set steals my heart and my perpetual appetite could not be restrained and Tanishq gave  reins to my passionate affair with myself for I only felt like the rare royalty who reigns.

This radiant necklace  is laid into intricate floral motifs and is highlighted by red sugarloaves that perfectly reflect rich imperial heritage.

The Benarasi lehanga I have worn with this necklace is my mother’s saris that she had done into lehanga and choli with the graceful odhni for me last year.

This amalgamation of Benarasi sari and red choker necklace is something my mother always wants me to wear and hence this is an ode to you mom, again and again, I will go on being your daughter and reflecting your tasteful choices and majestic royalty…the poetry of love shall linger…

breathing in my mother in every work of art I perform,

=Truly Yours=

Tanishq – Queen of hearts ❤️

Tanishq10

Queen of hearts- the name itself spells regal grace and charisma and this collection of sets makes you for sure feel like one, the Queen of ♥️ hearts.

Blossoming from the spirit of nobility and signifying the grace of the queen, the jewel pieces from the Queen of Hearts range are truly captivating.

When I got a chance to glance through this marvel of a collection I realised the name was so befitting , you would buy it for your queen of heart, be it your wife or your mother or daughter, depending on what relationship you get reminded of seeing these sparkling diamonds engraved and paired with green emeralds or rubies or other precious gem stones. There is a set for everyone, a beauty for each relationship. And every stone sparkles and shines in a way that you would want to buy one for the twinkle of your eyes, for who your eyes burn the flame of passion and life.

My queen of hearts is always my mother so this post of mine goes on for the ethereal beauty of a mother.

Celebrate the auspicious and joyous occasion of Akshaya Trittiya with the sparkle of diamonds.

This could be an ideal gift from you to your mother this Mother’s Day. Tanishq queen of hearts sets are so subtly glamorous and tell a story of their own that they could be the part of a girl’s dream trousseau, something that she could adorn without thinking twice for the versatility of the sets. They would ideally go with ethnic or indo western equally.

There’s something that makes one truly feel like a queen, regal and Royal, on the pedestal as one would embrace this selection of gorgeous jewellery. This is the aura that is created with this range of extremely delicate and exotic in its designs- QUEEN OF HEARTS by TANISHQ.

As I donned one of the Exquisite jewellery, which I was invited to write on, I felt the touch and feel of it was so feminine and although it is all diamonds yet it felt so light and right. I am extremely delighted to narrate my styling experience with the Tanishq.

  • So the first piece I donned was the beautiful, one of the best and so queen-like, the three tiered ruby and diamond set. This set can be worn with a gown or a sari with equal panache and flamboyance, coupled with style and verve that makes you the lucida, yes, the brightest one in the constellation.

Tanishq2 Tanishq1Tanishq3

  • The second one was more like a choker, holding close to neck with precious green stones only on the pendant and ear danglers and diamonds are on the choker and this is a neckpiece one can sport anytime, be it a wedding or a ceremony that calls for subtle hints of glamour.

Tanishq5 Tanishq4 Tanishq6

  • The other one I wore was the one with green gemstones closer to my neck and diamonds on the outer twirls of it with chandelier earrings. One could carry it with western or indo western or ethnic outfits with equal grace and glamour.

Tanishq7 Tanishq9 Tanishq8

  • With diamonds that shine bright, these designs accentuate the beauty of the Queen of Hearts.

Tanishq12 Tanishq11 Tanishq10 Tanishq13

  • Drawn from the finesse that a queen embodies, the Queen of Hearts collection from Tanishq encompasses of delicate and enchanting designs that complement her radiance. You feel like the mavoureen.

Tanishq16 Tanishq14 Tanishq15

I wore five pieces and I loved the feel of every set. I have used three designer outfits from various design houses to go with these, and one of them happens to be the similar one which Deepika has worn for the Queens.

When I did the shoot for Queens then my Queen of heart, my Mother was right there with me and today, when I’m editing this blog to go live, she is gone, only her precious memories are there.

This Mother’s Day I won’t have my beautiful mom with me but this blog is a tribute to her- to the Queen with nobody to dispute her beauty, the lady who undeniably brightens up the ambience for she exudes royalty and warmth and enlivens everything and enlightens my heart and soul, to my Mother on this Mother’s Day, to the one who rules my heart, mind and soul- to my Queen of Heart ❤️, my ever loving maa.

Tanishq Shubham #tanishqwalidiwali

This Diwali and wedding season is surely going to be special for many of us with the beautiful, exquisite heirloom pieces and ornaments by the Shubham collection of Tanishq.

Tanishq has introduced its latest range of jewellery “Shubham” , the exquisite temple jewellery in the times when the traditional craftsmanship in jewellery making has reached an apogee; hence reviving artistic traditions in fading, distinctive , indigenous form of jewellery.

Shubham is jewellery inspired by the history , geography and diversity of culture of India , thereby redefining the beauty of Indian Woman. I was invited by the team Tanishq to blog and review the same and it is been an extremely luxurious and thoroughly pampering affair to get this opportunity.

And As I donned the sets one by one, so many feelings and memories flooded my heart. For me Tanishq holds an immense emotional value for the fact that my mother loved Tanishq jewellery and every piece of jewellery in Shubham is not just a product but a heirloom which a mother passes on to her daughter. It is the glory of generations, the celebration of the eternal bond and relationships , the journey of a woman; when every set signifies a feeling poignant in the moment. I could realise that at Tanishq, jewellery is not just a form of adornment but every piece of Shubham also carries symbolic value in terms of so many ways.

The first one I donned is the ‘hansuli’ choker and I could feel that each set or necklace tells its own story, aesthetically appealing to the senses with its fragments in history. This one is a timeless design modified into delicate piece of art, replicating and retaining the traces of original heirloom yet fashioning it on the lines of universal appeal and modern charm. I had always heard of Hansuli from my mother and this was a fabulous ornate creation on my neck. This piece would compliment a woman on every occasion, be it Diwali or your own wedding. The hansuli is a statement jewellery and is breath taking and magnificent. This hansuli choker was a blend of Indian heritage and modern precision.

Then I chose to wear a Choker and a long neck piece or haar . The beads of the Choker are in the shape of pillars of a temple with intricate carvings. The long neck piece totally complements the look with its bearing in the majestic temples of Hampi, Gujarat and Bhubaneshwar, hence making it an ornament of regal grace, thus adding the royal touch to the aura of a woman. I chose to brace and adorn my hands with a lovely ring and a beautiful pair of Kangans which felt like a shower of opulence, glory and blessings from heavens above. …

Shubham is the jewellery that not only a bride wears on her wedding day with elan and poise but also which can be fused with any modern clothing with eclat.

The piece of jewellery I loved the most is the beautiful Krishna haar. Although it would feel that it’s so traditional yet I made sure I wear it in a different flavour and so I wore it with the black Roberto Cavalli gown. With this I wore a delicate choker and the regal long neckpiece which is a fusion of the age old Matarmala and panchlara haar. The beaded arrangement of Matarmala in a a simplistic yet very stylish way woven into a three layered (instead of five layers of panch- Lara haar), makes it a possession of unbridled grandeur. The modern and wearable twist, despite marrying of two very royally exquisite pieces into one, makes it the most arresting piece of jewellery which I would surely want to buy and treasure in my jewellery box( which incidentally is a gift from my grand-ma).

Each piece of jewellery in the Shubham collection represents an epoch, an era that makes you feel like a woman with an undeniable air of beauty and royalty. Tanishq, has surely paid a tribute to the art and artisans , temple and history of Indian culture, playing with the designs and motifs inherited from past, and re-crafted, reviving the jewellery into a new contemporary form. This gesture has alchemised the artistic spirit and coalesced the craftsmanship with fashion in a very fashionable and trendy manner. These wondrous ornaments are the current must- haves in any urban lady’s trinket box. So let’s celebrate #tanishqwalidiwali .For more designs you can see here- Tanishq.co.in
