After having tasted this new menu I can vouch that the food at Shangri-La, Ssaffron has raised the bars and if you are looking for authentic flavors then this is the place. The aroma and flavour of freshly ground masalas of lahori kadhai murg is still fresh in my mind, the crunchy taste of freshly roasted and ground saunf and other ingredients is a sure shot delight and truly Lahori. The softness and well-balanced flavors of paneer bhurji actually reminded me of my mom’s handmade bhurji.

Hence it is a must go in this rainy season and savoured these spices and flavors.

Staycation at Shangri-La Fitness goals & health club

At Shangri-La Hotel, Bengaluru, health and wellness are more than just a short-term indulgence; they are a way of life. Keeping this in mind, the hotel’s level 3 was designed to be a fully equipped dedicated wellness floor that caters to all its guests’ health and wellness needs. It treats guests to a variety of experiences that takes them away from their busy schedules to an environment of peace, calm and healing.

Last weekend We had an opportunity to stay in this lavish property that is nestled in the heart of the city. We had an amazing time starting our Saturday with some exotic and delicious Mediterranean lunch at Caprese. The platter was delicious with cheese and meat along with exotic fruits and salads sprayed with aromatic olive oil. And yes, then I headed to room to take a siesta for after that I had to go ahead n work it out.

Hence it’s always a great idea to spend a weekend unwinding here, though in the heart of the city yet so relaxed and tranquil. And I chose to spend some quality time exercising and swimming, sleeping eating and repeating at Shangri-La.

This oasis of tranquillity features an outdoor temperature-controlled swimming pool and a hydro-thermal experience encompassing a steam bath, sauna and a Jacuzzi. The wellness floor also has a state-of-the-art gymnasium equipped with Technogym ARTIS and ARKE series, the unparalleled, highest-quality gym equipment. In addition, guests can benefit from personal training sessions tailored to their unique fitness requirements.

All the facilities of CHI, the spa and health club are nestled in one floor. This time my #staycation focussed on the physical training and a swim and then finally dinner in the room. When it’s Anuja coming for staycation she makes sure she goes for a spa session at CHI.

In addition to the CHI spa, the wellness floor has a 24-hour Health Club with a variety of cardio machines, including treadmills, cross trainers, upright bicycles, recumbent bicycles and stair masters, all with a touchscreen offering TV services and Internet connectivity, along with top-of- the-line equipment from Technogym’s Kinesis, ARKE and OMNIA series. Professional trainers provide guidance and ensure that training is conducted in a safe manner.

With the launch of Technogym’s “Wellness on the Go”, users are able to enjoy the wellness lifestyle wherever they are – in the gym, at home, at work or outdoors – and stay connected to their world and their training. With an integrated Android interface, users can work, give interviews and hold conference calls digitally while training.

Other facilities on the wellness floor include a sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, relaxation room and a heated lounger. Also available is a kids’ pool and an outdoor pool, with a depth of 1.2 metres and a length of 25 metres, making it ideal for both leisure and training.

The swimming pool is open to in-house guests daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Non-residential guests may also access the pool and other facilities through yearly or half-yearly memberships.

Health Club membership is available for individual guests, couples, families of four (a couple with two children aged up to 16 years old) and for groups of five members or more. Swimming pool membership is available for individual guests and couples.

Guests may relax and rejuvenate at the CHI spa from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Non-resident guests may access the club from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. The well-equipped gymnasium is available to in-house guests 24 hours daily.

SHANGRI-LA HOTEL, BENGALURU LAUNCHES MALAYSIAN GASTRONOMICAL DELIGHTS

The hotel introduces the city’s only expat Asian chef de cuisine at b Café

Bengaluru, August2017 –Shangri-La Hotel, Bengaluru, known as the city’s largest food and beverage destination, adds another feather to its cap with the launch of Malaysian cuisine at its all-day-dining, multi-cuisine restaurant, b Café. Expat Asian Chef de Cuisine Liew How Wai introduced us to the distinctive and aromatic delicacies that are integral to Malaysian culinary codes, with a hint of hawker cooking.

We, (loftyspectrums and friends) had a fun lunch noon which tantalised our taste buds, guests will surely be spoilt for choice with the brilliant chef’s expansive menu including must-try dishes Rojak Buah (Mix Fruit Salad), Ayam Percik (Barbecue Chicken), Kambing Masak Kurma (Malaysian Curry Lamb Kurma), Satay Ayam (Chicken Satay), Mee Goreng Mamak (Malaysian Fried Noodles), Popiah (Malaysian Crepe) and Nyonya Laksa (Noodles in Thick Coconut Broth),to name a few.

Chef Liew’s menu features rich and spicy influences which extend from wok-fried noodles, steaming bowls of fluffy rice and delicate, savoury-yet-sweet Malaysian delicacies to age-old culinary gems and spices.

We had a fashionable and fun afternoon with a lot to eat, laugh and talk about. The discussions on food though took centre stage. The performance of traditional Malaysian dance just nailed the all sensorial experience. The gang of my friends are planning to visit Malaysia. Malaysian tourism industry is growing enormously and its rich culinary culture is a big part of the tourism. Asian cuisine has gone from being a niche food obsession to becoming one of the most popular around the world over the last decade.

Malaysian cuisine is a melting pot of cultures spanning Thai, Chinese, Indonesian and Indian flavours that has been spicing up many kitchens globally; the growing tourism has immensely contributed to driving this growth. Many of our dishes have become familiar names and are relished worldwide and this is a testament that our rich culinary culture is mutually appreciated throughout the world,” said a visibly delighted Noor Azman Samsudin, the director of Tourism Malaysia for South India and Sri Lanka.

Me and my friends had decided to wear some beautiful floral printed day dresses which typically reflected the mood of the day and represented our flavour for fashion to go with food. It was incredibly romantic afternoon with drizzle and mild showers that just made it so delightful. After lunch when we had some, masala chai from chai ki thadi that culminated our experience.
