I started this new year’s first weekend with a party and unlike most of the fashion bloggers, I chose to repeat one of my outfits with a twist in style. Why not repeat… for I love the way it makes me look!! Simple ain’t it, why do we have to succumb to the pressure of sporting new dresses, new look each time; I mean to say that I’m a fashion blogger…it doesn’t imply I’m a model. Although I pose n post my pics on social media, my primary work is to talk and write about a trend or lifestyle if it appeals to me ( I don’t believe in writing for whoever pays well, I started this blog to express my opinions and my take on things and situations that appealed aesthetically or artistically to me), my job is to create content. But we have to use our pictures too, ain’t visual medium just the most appealing way to easily convey the message or promote/advertise a product.

Life of a blogger looks so hunky dory, we are always glammed up and attending various sort of social networking events, we are there for the launches of luxury fashion and lifestyle products and we meet the best of people.. right!

Yes it is, but it could also be very demanding, you gotta look your best most of the time, you have people who follow you not in social media but also in real life and girl you have to learn the art of being polite yet keeping your distance…

and then you have your own circle of women and c’mon when do women spare other women!! Nah! So expect the expected… like one of my followers after checking my story came to the hotel where I was dining with my family and insisted on getting a picture. Don’t take me wrong, I’m not trying to say I’m a star 🌟 but all I mean to tell is that I was a plain Jane n I loved his expressions when he felt so sorry for me while I was trying to transform from my role of a mommy, who was desperately trying to make sure her kids eat well, to a Diva who looks flawless ( I know it sounds familiar, isn’t this all of us women do while they juggle roles as a mom, daughter, wife, at workplace & then to a social outings, yes we put up different faces for different places, phases, and people!! It’s the story of all superheroes… aye I love watching #marvelcomics and #DC 🙂 )

Well anyway, talking about my look, I’m so thankful to Mamta Roy to have sent me some of the most exquisite pieces of jewelry from Odette.in and she made sure she sent me all kinds of looks to celebrate my Diwali. I rang in my new year wearing this cut lace powder lavender outfit with the lovely lace and pearls necklace n earrings by #odette for #loftyspectrums #happynewyearbash exclusively.

Lace jewelry is not an everyday thing and it takes out the feminine you to the forefront.

So talking about repeating a dress but with new jewelry and style, I wore this wonderful choker with self-pride finally for this party, teaming it up with my electric blue Ritu Kumar outfit that was on the ramp this fall season, and yes, I dared to repeat it.

Loved styling my look in a contemporary way, white sneakers that speak love 💖 aloud with this beauty on my neck from Odette and an electrifying dress.

I used eye make up from HUDA and Urban Decay bronzers n pinks with a little shimmer and I dazzled the night.

That’s what a girl needs at the stroke of midnight when new year knocks our lives- love, shimmer and Cinderella Shoes 👟: The time replaces our glass heels with snug fit sneakers when the dainty princess in you don’t wanna leave the sandals anymore behind for any Prince to trace you…I love my comfort zone when I wear my choker & shoes with nobody around to choke-her (me) with any kinda demanding love or whatever else !!! Isn’t that what you call as celebrating each year with a wiser version of yourself and taking the guts of leaving behind the sissy lil girl in you who demands all the attention to herself…but enjoying yourself thoroughly!!

C’mon Lady you are your own Lover, your fairy God Mom has indeed infested a lot of Magic in you that you are capable of making so many lives Magical n star-studded 🌟🌟🌟🌟

(I would like to imagine myself leaving the trail of stardust as I walk across embracing this year) – family, friends and your instafam (read peeps who are all your family instantly on your Instagram); finally this world is a big happy family…btw a few days back it was a rage to look happy in social media but our new age Instagrammers are trying to change the rules of the game by posting their crying faces on their stories, finally we gotta be different to make news, ah why am I being mean!!! but I gotta take this year with a new me too so adding few vices along with fewer virtues too 😋.

And now is the time to build healthy eating habits so as to lead more nourished lives and hence I have already started trying out these simple recipes as we finish the first week of the new year 2019. Almost all recipes take between 10-20 mins to prepare. They are interesting and scrumptious, fancy yet simple. These recipes can replace a lot of our fatty party food as they look lavish and taste heavenly.

The book has been divided into alkalizers like kale, ridge gourds, turmeric, sweet potato etc and energizers like cereals, quinoa, amaranth… The recipes given for each is more than one. The author has taken care that there are simple yet delicious salads, chutneys, dips, stews, curries, turmeric latte, soups n dressings.

These are the amazing recipes I personally loved- ridge gourd chutney, almond milk kheer, buckwheat crepes, amaranth crusted chicken, the quinoa pizza with hummus, stuffed zucchini rolls, cauliflower rice etc …the amazing recipes are wholesome, quick to prepare, therapeutic. Radhika Toshniwal has also discussed foods that cause allergies, and foods that solve problems like constipation, acidity, hangovers.

We are what we eat and hence food is medicine, food is merriment and as someone wisely said, “One cannot think well, love well, sleep well if one has not dined well.”

For an effortless transition, this book offers a delectable way to sip and eat through healthier body and spirit, inspiring one to take on the journey of positive eating. The author has artistically taken ingredients and made them into recipes that we don’t think of often and what more they are easy to prepare. Believe me, if I’m saying this then any of us can cook as I’m not the sorts who would like to spend any more than 25 mins in the kitchen.

Speaking on the occasion of the release of her first book, Radhika said, “Our lifestyles are such that more often than not we have to make do with quick meals which can be prepared and consumed within 10-20 minutes. Since junk food is the easiest and commonly available option, despite knowing its harmful effects it is eaten freely. Sunday Splurge at SPAR

Sundays are always special, and it becomes even more special when a famous hypermarket chain adds another feather to their cap by opening a new store in Bangalore.

Yes, I am talking about SPAR Hypermarket’s another store in Bangalore at Forum Shantiniketan mall.

The inauguration of the store started with an impressive Dollu Kunitha performance by local artists. The store visit was a delightful experience. I realized that one might not need to go anywhere else to meet one’s household and office needs.

Let me take you through a few store sections that I loved the most:

Grandma’s corner – As the name suggests, it is a section that will make one feel nostalgic thinking about the great taste of one’s grandma’s homemade pickle. The pickle is available in traditional pickle jar which will tempt you to buy it without any hesitation.
Farmers Market – It has all the necessary pulses, dal, rice, gur, and other such products that will meet your kitchen needs. Not to forget all the daily fruits and vegetable needs also get fulfilled here with its fresh fruits & vegetables including seasonal fruits & vegetables section.
Meat & Fish – There is a food kiosk at the entrance of the section which will let you know about the various kinds of products available in that section such as meat, fish, fresh cuts, cold cuts, raw and packed. There are separate sections for seafood and fresh meat. The fish fresh cuts were as fresh as you have just come from fishing and the section was very hygienic.
Freshly – From salads, mocktails to fresh juices, every requirement for a person who wants to live a healthy lifestyle can be satisfied along with quality service. Moreover, if you want to have fresh fruits, vegetables or smoothies, then this is the right place to be in.
Easy buy – This section is entirely for the fashion lovers where one can get all the apparels, be it Indian ethnic or contemporary. I hope this will be the best place for ladies to satiate their fashion desires.
Beauty – Yet another section where one would want to visit because it offers a wide range of beauty care products such as hair care, skin care, eye and lip care essentials. This Independence Day We chose to celebrate by being a part of the magic- magic that you create for others.
Each and every one deserves a wish and hence Fabelle india came up with this great initiative to help the children suffering with chronic illness in collaboration with MAKE A WISH organization.
Fabelle made a special chocolate and it’s a taste bud stimulant for sure.

Summer Lookbook #006 – Little Black Dress

I remember when I came to bangalore as a teenager how much I loved it. To an 18 year old from delhi this place meant a whiff of fresh romantic air, cherry blossoms, Bougainville, an IT city and most of all a city with great music and pubs.

So this week, I had a rocking time dancing my blues away with my gang of girls in one of the high end clubs in indranagar. What did you do this weekend? Let me know if you love the swanky pubs of bangalore and if yes then which ones are your favourites as I would love to try them out soon. I love my audiences and it’s really fun interacting with you so looking forward for more mails than I get.

Since you all have given a great response to the summer lookbook series so here’s another one for you, although Summers are almost getting over in bangalore. The breezy evenings and late nights of bangalore and the jam packed roads are a sight so integral to this city.

Hence today I bring you very sporty and casual look that I sported this weekend.

I’m wearing a tee shirt dress and it’s for all you rebellious women who love to experiment and not stick to safe zone when it comes to looking good. It’s a very comfy outfit and something that you could wear anytime of the day- boots at night to up the hot quotient. Since it’s slightly windy in bangalore so this look is suitable to this climate here. You can also wear it with some canvas shoes for a day wear as it reflects a very careless attitude. So fashion or no fashion your style statement has to be there.
