While curating the cuisine, we aimed at transforming the ordinary to extraordinary. I have personally conducted an old fashioned research on the culinary options and handpicked a few preferred ingredients from various regions, like godhoraj lemons from Calcutta, fermented red chilies from Korea. Few of the dishes are conceptualized basis my childhood memories as well. One should definitely try the drool-worthy dishes like lamb cafreal, chettiar chicken and nuts over coconut.”

Top Things To Do in Paris

Paris was raining as I landed here, unlike Paris and quite like London, with showers drenching us unpredictably and sky a dull grey; while all I remember of Paris was colorful romantic skies. But the moment I sat in the ‘taxi’ for the hotel and entered the city, the fleeting sight of buildings brought me back the warmest thoughts and times when I had visited here for the first time.

And no sooner had I spent a night here, the sun smiled on us as we went to The Louvre and I immediately realized that I surely love this beautiful city, the very Parisian charm and touch to everything that shall not leave you untouched, leaving a soft memory and smile on your face when you reminisce it later.

Paris is a city that grows on you, it’s not what you see here, rather it’s what you experience here sometimes
I feel we live our life most passionately when we are traveling. Traveling leaves our senses more receptive and opens up our hearts and minds. (Remembering that jingle of Nescafe that was popular 20 years back when I was in college, open up…tataratatararra). And as I shuttle from old Paris to the new in no time in the metros, I shuttle the times when I first came here as a brand new polished, happy n affectionate wife to the times now when I travel as an independent, facially polished, an upgraded version of the woman in me; times certainly change you and hence does the experience and perception of the same city too.

There’s so much to do in Paris; there’s opera, theatre, moulin rouge shows, walks in the Tuileries gardens, there’s art on every street and corner and there are art lovers. And then there is the River Seine that flows through the heart of the city. A cruise of river Seine is a must if you wish to get some wonderful Instagrammable clicks of Eiffel tower and much more, specially the lover’s bridge where lovers have locked their love for eternity.

There’s also another lovers’ lock place in Old Paris right in front of the stairs of Sacre Couer Church and yes, I marked and locked my love for eternity there in the presence of skies and wind as the ether stood between us.

Like Thomas Jefferson said “A walk about Paris will provide lessons in history, beauty, and in the point of Life.”

Its an experience to really live the real Paris like as a Parisian would. When I say this I imply that apart from visiting the landmark places of historical importance or places that we associate Paris with, it is a cardinal crime if we don’t explore culture, art, music and theatre, the terrace cafes and the socializing importance they hold for a Parisian. You got to live like one, to inhale and breathe the love and romance that is in the air of Paris to really know what Paris is. It’s the city with pink skies, a city where there are streets that are abuzz with fashion, music, and artists.

Montmartre is one place anyone would love to go, its picturesque streets and the artists with their interpretation of the various seasons of this beautiful city are in every corner. And their inviting warm faces, yeah, Bonjour, you are certainly beautiful if you are in Paris. On this note, I wish to tell you how pretty I felt while getting my portrait done on the insistence of the artist and my family while the passers-by (art lovers) looked at the portrait and then me with such amicable expressions. Paris certainly makes you beautiful overnight.

The corner shops and their warm waffles and crepes and the smiles of people that could melt the icecreams, the inviting rich aroma of brewing coffee emanating from the cafes that buzz with the bees like the hum of well-dressed women as they indulge in never-ending chats and giggles, the musicians playing instrument & singing and unknowingly imparting a certain zing to your walk, the fashion boutiques invoking the fashionista in you, the impeccable theatrical performances that leave you awe-struck ( yes, art does leave me starstruck every time as though I saw it for the very first time); these are the experiences that you collect and live, Paris certainly leaves you intoxicated each time you go. It doth grow on you.

And then when we walk through the streets of old Paris we finally reach the top where the Sacre Couer church resides. Don’t forget to walk the stairs of this place which hover the most stunning view of the great city.

We all love this city for its Eiffel Tower, Versailles Palace, Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Champ Elysses and the Notre Dame that is going through reconstruction for the damage that had happened recently. And I loved visiting The Latin Quarter for cheap eats and Saint Germain des Pres for Boutiques.

If you are a dog lover then you would Particularly enjoy watching the dogs that strut the streets of this fashion capital making an adorable and yet again a fashionable sight with various kinds of hair cuts, styles and hues and their outfits (omg, they are capable of giving a woman inferiority complex and any parent of a kid could take a cue or two on the upbringing part since people in France & Europe groom their pets really well).

I love Paris and each time I go, I see it in a different light. It changes colors like the lights of majestic towering Eiffel Tower and seals my heart with a very genuinely happy feel…yes, quoting Hemingway I must say Paris is a moveable feast !!

The Den Bengaluru- First Millenial Luxury Hotel

The Den Bengaluru gives you a wholesome stay option and that is exactly what I and lucky did-Eat, Work, Sleep and Play. The hotel offers luxury with a contemporary twist that resonates equally with the modern globetrotter as well as the traditional traveller. It’s the first millennial luxury hotel in India. It’s a 226-room hotel with 25 floors located on a 2.8-acre land parcel in the IT corridor of Whitefield. We were invited by this premium hotel in its suave pad of comfort in whitefield as soon as we returned from #cannesfilmfestival.

Jetlagged as we already were, what could have been a better retreat than to be a guest at The Den Bengaluru which is the first hotel expansion by renowned Israeli hospitality chain -Dan Hotels. Dan Israel Hotels Offer outstanding hotels and facilities located in Israel’s most desirable locations like Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Eilat, Haifa, Herzliya, and Caesarea Hotel.

Breaking the traditional rules of sophistication, its philosophy redefines this hotel by blending in elements of grandeur with easy comfort and we surely experienced this while we were there. When we went there we had an interactive conversation with the very sweet Saheli who is communication manager of the hotel Over a cup of bitter aromatic coffee and some freshly baked croissants and pastries from The Deli. I love good coffee and I’m a sucker for it, and the start of the day was just so ravishing. Coffee and conversations take a friendship long way.As we went ahead with the day, lucky went on with the gymming and workout followed by swimming to relax his muscles.

Gym

Pool While he was breaking a sweat, I indulged in a deep tissue massage that left me completely refreshed after the long flight I had had. This luxury property is surely adorned with elegance and comfort and we had loved being here.

This was followed by an evening at The Nest- the high energy cocktail bar…a heady mix of good cocktails and chats with the very warm and hospitable GM of the hotel. He also made sure we try one of his concoctions that was so original. So it was this cucumber juice from the fresh pressery mixed with vodka and something more and voila I loved it…

Cannes Film Festival 2019 Red Carpet

Cannes film festival is not just a celebration of art, cinema, movie making, actors and celebrities; it’s also a festival that celebrates its fans, people who visit Cannes from all over the world to watch it, influencers and media, the students of movie making, makeup professionals, stylists and real people like us…it truly is a festival in every perspective.

Day 1 in Cannes look in collaboration by KOOVS Fashion

Beaches of Cannes

Streets of the old town in Cannes

The town, as I arrived to attend the festival and also to see this beautiful part of the French Riviera, was buzzing with action, no reserve energy but all fluid and active…a progressive town with its inhabitants full of verve and enthusiasm as they greet everyone from all the parts of the world with equanimity and love.

A beautiful resort town by the Mediterranean with amazing climate known for its association with the rich and famous…and most importantly home to the Palais des festival and its red carpet walk of fame.

This town has upmarket boutiques & boulevards, a walk along the promenade & exploration of the streets will leave you starstruck as every woman is a fashionista here specially in this time of the year.

The town offers luxury hotels with some great food to gorge on, picturesque locales with its pristine beaches that show the true colours of water…dancing to the rhythm of life and some mindblowing parties that happen during the festivals hosted by the luxury brands that outshine brilliance as you become a spectator of this opulence and grandeur. The Cannes town at this moment is charged and overflowing with energy and flashy with celebrities in their craziest best fashion and style statements. Cannes in itself is a statement and the cynosure of the world map
at the moment.

Day 2 with Prasoon Joshi, AR Rahman, and Kashmira Shah

Red Carpet Debut

Red carpet and how I feel

These stars who arrive at Cannes film festival are not just stars but they are artists from world cinema who have to be fulfilling the expectations of their fans and critics alike, in cinemas as artists, and as stars leaving a trail of stardust behind, as they walk the red carpet of Cannes film festival. This surely is a lot of pressure and great emotional feeling & affair too at the same time, since every foot they put forward while climbing up the steps of red carpet is a reminder of their journey that has made them reach to these heights and that’s the look and smile that can’t escape the face of these beauties donned in their plumage as they fathom the true brilliance of each step…this is the magical Cannes red carpet that brings the best out of the best…

The amazing journey of film stars and the art of film making is showcased each day during the festivals while the movies from world cinema premiere and these stars walk and grace the red carpet adding dollops of oomph and a dash of chutzpah, an incredible mix of passionate fashion and art of cinema… a sight and a feeling that lingers on forever impressed on your heart if you become an audience to it.

Hence I say there’s so much more than just fashion in Cannes film festival, there’s philosophy and hard work (if we change our lens that are just focussing on flaws and good looks), there’s love of locals and fans alike (who don’t mind policing and being pushed around or being pushy, as a  matter of fact). There’s a lot of creativity around the town in the form of people, things, food, artifacts…there’s more to Cannes than the film festival, there’s an opportunity for every fan to see there favorite stars, there’s commerce for the town, there is a learning for each student, a thought for a philosopher, a grand spectacle for a visualizer and a dreamer, a chance for directors from diverse countries to come together to collaborate and experiment in the field of movie making thereby uniting the world in one canvas; there are yacht and beach parties for the tourists and some incredibly entertaining night life and finally the beautiful people who make all of this worthwhile.

We loved the look of Eva Longoria in her gold champagne dazzling gown, Kangana Ranaut who is porcelain beauty and the only celebrity who was wearing a beautiful gold saree, Deepika padukone-the queen of Bollywood.

Cannes is an alluring and enticing beauty that has put together all its colorful feathers and is in its a full bloom of youth and cheer. Yes, it is the Game of thrones…eccentricity, blinding dazzle, dressed to kill and outshine the rest, the celebrities in their opulence making a statement of being the khalisi of the stardom. The game of thrones begins where stars are the knights in their shining glamorous armour mounted on the pride of their achievements, entering the red carpet with elan, parading while they ooze their power over fans and paparazzi as we are left enamoured and disarmed. And that’s the way aha aham ..we like it…(yes this is the song that played when Eva Longoria made her debut on the red carpet in her dazzling champagne gold gown and stole the show on day 3)

Goan Summers @ ITC Grand Goa!

We all have had some trips which have lent us with beautiful experiences & Fun times that always remain sealed in our heart❣ Well, the Goa trip accompanied by my co-blogger and partner in crime, Lucky. It was one of the best trips I have experienced for a long time. Goa implies loads of fun activity in sun and sand, beach and mimosas and what better company than your friend.

We stayed at ITC Grand Goa and the kind of Goa Fun we had was confined within the resort since ITC hotels happened to be an overload of luxury and comfort.  ITC Grand Goa is an extremely luxurious and tropical getaway and offers a breath-taking view of the beach and lush greens which filled my heart with joy. The lavish accommodation we got was a well furnished and cozy suite with a personal patio, an outdoor rain shower, and a secret garden.

The mornings amidst these swaying coconut palms and shimmering lagoons and birds chirping in the resort naturally attracted my footsteps to the pristine Arossim beach. This beautiful resort with a blend of vintage and classical elegance made our trip truly an invigorating experience.

Most of the time was either utilized in the beach or the swimming pool. The multi-level swimming pool had a distinctive beauty of its own and it is supposedly one of the largest swimming pool in any of the resorts in Asia. The tropical climate, fizzy drinks, refreshing games, and water sports in the pool and Lucky’s bubbly and energetic company infused a fresh burst of energy.

ITC Grand Goa spoilt us for various choices. There was this exclusive cabana at the beachside and the staff especially organized an amazing afternoon for us. It was truly the most immersing experience of the Goan holiday as we were served some scrumptious smoked salmon with a touch of lemon sauce, butter garlic glazed prawns, spicy Goan kingfish and beer (cheers to Goa and Loftyspectrums!) While we absorbed the lively ambiance with the sound of beach waves, the ticklish feel of sand under the feet as we danced to the live music playing at the Royal Afghan and clinking the beer mugs, we inhaled a fresh breath of life, whiffing out all the negativities of life. We also did a host of water sports like parasailing and jet skiing.

The next day was all about physical wellness with the royal spa KayaKalp. The pavilion at the village square offers multiple dining options with marvelous Indian, international and Goan cuisine round the clock…there are nearly 6 restaurants there spoiling the guests with the choices. While the Royal Afghan at the beachside offers Goan and northern frontier food with grills and charcoals as you feast under a starlit sky. This is where I spent my noon in the Cabana totally pampered.

As they say, the best things are usually most unanticipated, I experienced the best while exploring and walking down the trails in this beautiful property with nature at its full swing. My best was this open to air, small yet stunning Shiv temple. The Maha Mrityunjay Chant was audible and I could see a beautiful Shivling ornamented by wildflowers. it was a moment I lived forever when I bathed lord Shiva with pure water where the Shivling stood unguarded by the so-called protectors of religion, green trees guarding and playing the canopy as I became one with him, washing off my pains.

ITC Hotels all around India is amazing as it captures the spirit of the city hence doing complete justice to its tourists who come to explore and experience the culture, food and the real glimpse of that city ( I have experienced it over time and over years with my stays at various places in the ITC Hotels). I got to experience the best of Goa while I stayed here- rejuvenated and refreshed

Summer Hair-Care with new Schwarzkopf Bonacure Fibre Clinix

Introducing the new BC fibre clinix! Bengaluru welcomes the all-new BC Bonacure and fibre clinix with a lot of enthusiasm & vigor. It’s a new breakthrough and it takes hair repair to the next level. So the hairstylists would be able to cleanse treat and boost your hair with fibre clinix. It’s a salon exclusive hair service for all hair types. And as the #myschwazkopf family celebrated its launch in Bengaluru for this special range of hair care, notable hair stylists, influencers and hair experts came together to celebrate this revolution in hair care.

So there have been three innovative technologies that have been brought to reinvent BC fibre clinix :

  1. Micellar technology introduces effective cleansing without its harsh effects. So it’s used in order to conquer drying effect that follows cleansing. So it’s being used n incorporated in each shampoo by BC.
  2. The trending skin care uses technology molecules that are supremely efficacious in taking care of skin and that’s what has been inspired the hair care. This makes Schwazkopf a solution for most of the hair concerns.
  3. Cell perfector technology makes sure that each of the protein lipids on outer layer of your hair are replaced thereby making them healthy.

So the new range of these products are ensuring effective cleansing, efficient solutions to hair problems and also takes care of hair from inside to outside. For strengthening and improving the hair texture there are peptides that take care of the damaged hair. Hyaluronic acid in the serums and boosters and shampoos n conditioners rehydrates the hair. As we all know hyaluronic acid rehydrates your hair and in today’s stressful environment our hair is robbed of moisture. There are many more ingredients which suit today’s modern lifestyle that cruelly leaves your hair limp and unhealthy.

The event had a presentation and discussion on the products which was followed by personal consultation and treatment vouchers that would suit each hair type. My hair is dry and frizzy so I got my dose of shampoos, mask, conditioner, and serum to take care of the same. The treatment will follow soon for me and Lucky at the salon when I will be posting more on my Instagram channel stories and feed. The wine and dinner served by @JW Marriot was nothing less than superb.

So the technological revolution is here as Schwarzkopf brings in each product infused to give bounce and oomph to your hair thereby making you #believeinconfidence with @schwazkopfindiaSo keep bouncing and loving and go through this new range of products. Cheers 🥂

Holi, a Fashionable Rainbow – SS’19 IFW

Holi is a festival that doesn’t just celebrate colors of spring but also revelry, fun frolicking and nature’s beauty. It’s like that fashionable rainbow of colors which has hues of music, gujjiyas, bhang and great food -a perky social occasion when you get a chance to splash brightness into your own outfits too.

There could be nothing better than a pool party and Holi brunch with your friends who dance on all rang barse songs apt for this festival that embraces the romance of spring at its peak.

Outfits for various moods of Holi could be many but choosing one from SS’19 collection by the ace designer Masaba Gupta for a Holi brunch is feeding the untamed wild side of you, believe me!

So a wrap around maxi dress is what I wore for the brunch. I teamed it with some very chunky jewelry by Odette that enhanced the glam look which was just in the right proportion needed for a brunch outing like that.

The wild, untamed and young fashion that it is represents the young, daring women of today. The outfit is named as the scarlet deer forest wrap dress and it’s a resort wear apt for summer lunch outings- an untamed Nirvana…that’s the spirit of any festival fashion according to my philosophy. Oh yes, I do have achieved it too 😅

The brunch went on for the whole of the day and saw much fashion. So what better way than to celebrate the festival of colours in a totally fashionable way with your colourful bevy of beauties. The rusts and red colour is a runway hit right now and it’s been reigning since last year. Bring on the prints and slap some good sunscreen or a CC cream on your face finishing it with a bronzer and goggles and some flip flops.

Finally a celebration is complete with lots of fun n laughter and some chic fashion. Happy Holi Bangalore…😍😍💓

Holi is around the corner with its various hues that impart color and vibrancy to our lives. The spring season is any-which ways is a season of color and romance, it shows its beauty with nature blooming and blossoming into its full swing, birds chirping notes of love and breezy perfumes of flowers traveling through times and spaces carrying the scents of carefree life we once lived…my mind and heart is running into abyss of timelessness and limitlessness…

With this colorful season around the corner and also with the sessions of swimming we (Lucky and me) are taking with @hydrofitindia, we need a thorough skincare regime. And here today I’m going to discuss how important it is for us to take care of the biggest sense organ of our bodies.

We know there are few girls who won’t play Holi or they would rather not go ahead for a swim class in fear of getting rashes or bad skin and hair but what’s the point of missing out on all the fun. And we also know how men go ahead with everything but they hardly care for their skin. So let’s change the rules and let’s paint the town red this season and let us sparkle and glow with right skin care.

So for all the Sleeping Beauties and Justin Bieber’s out here, these are a few face packs and overnight masks that take care of your skin as you sleep.

Kiehl’s Cilantro and Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Mask: This is a miraculous hydrating facial masque with antioxidants that takes care of the skin against environmental hazards and pollutants as you sleep through the night. You just have to apply it after your regular cleansing routine and leave it overnight or tissue it off before you sleep. And you wake up to a bright happy skin. You can use it 2-3 times a week.

Ginger leaf and Hibiscus Forming Mask: This is also a cream mask that is used at night and could be left overnight and great for firming and smoothing the skin. Can be used 5 times a week.

Turmeric and Cranberry Seed Energising and Radiance Mask: It is a day time face pack that acts as a cooling and soothing pack for the summers that are approaching. It brightens up the skin and is a wonderful masque again.

Cactus Flower & Tibetan Ginseng Hydrating Mist: Come summers and my skin only quenches with the use of a lot of mists. And this mist has particularly proven to be really hydrating and nourishing as I have been using this over a month. Its ingredients that grow in extreme weather conditions make it a hands-down magically hydrating formula that is also infused with lavender, rosemary etc essential oils thereby making it a must-have in your bag anywhere you go.

I have been loving using these masks now for over a period of a month and hence giving the review now as we all are getting set to dive into a pool of colors. They are extremely good for skin care of a sensitive skin preventing breakouts and keeping it supple and adding a miraculous glow.

So go ahead and have a careless play of colors this Holi and summers as you know the formula to a great looking skin anyways.

Have fun and keep glowing with @kiehlsindia and @loftyspectrums
Cheers Xoxo
